BOTASERA · STATE MEMORY, LIVING INFRASTRUCTURE

At the Presidential Çankaya Mansion, BOTASERA’s responsibility extended far beyond a single garden intervention. Comprehensive landscape care and repair were carried out from 2008 to 2015, while a major hardscape and planting programme was completed in 2013. Vehicular roads and walks, retaining and boundary walls, stone paving, extensive lawns, woodland planting, automatic irrigation and structures connecting changing levels brought ceremonial representation and daily operations into one technical framework. The mature cedar, pine and deciduous grove was retained, while clipped hedges, topiary accents and controlled lawn clearings reinforced the geometry of formal spaces. Shaded tree avenues, ivy tunnels and stone walks established quieter routes at a human scale. A professional greenhouse was built as an on-site production and acclimatisation centre, supporting the estate’s planting continuity from orchids and interior specimens to seasonal crops. Long-term care, irrigation control, turf renewal, pruning, plant health and structural repair by one team enabled the design to mature coherently. The project remains a defining reference for BOTASERA’s ability to coordinate representation, security, craftsmanship, horticulture and uninterrupted operations at state scale within one living landscape system.

From first idea to mature landscape, every stage is directed by one creative and technical team.
